The Lost Crew

Posted by Artist-Lost Jul. 22, 2007 @ 1:48 AM EDT

The primary goal of The Lost Crew is to get into paying jobs.

The Lost Crew is going to be dedicated to the promotion of it's members talents. Primarily I will only be accepting Illustrators, Animators, and Programmers for now. The standards are going to be set high as I plan to create a page on the website when it launches that will showcase their best work. Now I'm not expecting everyone to be at a professional level, however I need to see that we can get you have the talent to get their with help from the crew.

Future plans include assembling an Illustrators Annual, to be published and released for sale which will include tutorials written up by each artist. An Annual Animators collaboration DVD for sale. Also one of the major goals is to get some more games crossing over like Alien Hominid.

Any profit from sales will be put back into production of more projects and advertisement for the crew members. Profits returning to each member if at all the first year would be very small, however if this goes well aside from having quite a bit of exposure you could expect a nice bit of cash flow from it all.

As for what is set up right now:
I have the business license under Artist Lost and will be adding "The Lost Crew" as a trade name if I get some promising responses.
The website is in progress and if anyone good at making flash based websites wants to help out that would speed up the process.
I have the domain name Artist-Lost, and will be looking to get The Lost Crew as well, however for now the site will just be branched off of the main Artist-Lost site.
I have a web host with 300gb storage and 3tb bandwidth so getting everyones pages up wont be a problem.

Also if you want to know a little bit about the quality of my work, perhapse to see if I am really into this sort of thing or not, then you can check out my current gallery at http://lordjay.deviantart.com/gallery

We have a lot of talent here on Newgrounds and I look forward to seeing the work of everyone who applies to join the crew.

Rules and Guidelines:

1)Doesn't matter if your in another crew, you can still join.

2)You will have to pass my inspection on your work so have samples ready, later I will get more people on the review board.

3)If I'm having trouble deciding on if your ready for the crew I will give you a assignment to test how good you are at getting things done.

4)Once your in there is a minimum of 1 high quality piece per year to stay in

5)I am the only one who will ever kick anyone out, I will appoint volunteers to help with disputes but the final call is mine alone.

6)I'm not going to make rules against what can be submitted, but if it's for mature audiences only it might have to be put in a separate project other then the annuals. However, I will be open minded and it may make it in if the work is tastefully done. I don't make mature work myself however we may branch into getting people jobs working on adult websites if they have the talent and interest.

7)There may be more rules and such later, however I will wait until we have enough dedicated members to vote on what needs to be instated. While I do have the final say in what happens in every situation, I will never go against a vote that is more then 60%

8)Yes there will be ranks and positions, positions will be assigned by me, however ranks will be determined based on the review boards view on your progress and dedication as well as how long you have been with the crew.

this sound interesting indeed.. working with someone as good as yourself would be amazing...

unfortunately, at this moment, I don't think I am good enough to be part of such a crew..

IF, by any chance, the though of embarrassing myself floated my head, how could I ( or anyone interested ), contact you?

via my artist lost email jnotter@artist-lost.com or my hotmail lkappy@hotmail.com(also my messenger). I will be accepting junior members sort of like interns but that wont mean much until I can get a proper web designer.

Sounds like you'v got it all set up nicely. I've been wanting to set up a crew like this, but with my busy uni schedule it's hard for me to lead anything. I'll keep this in mind and see how it develops, maybe i could join in the future.

I'll be sure and drop you a line when the site gets finished, right now I'm in the middle of a few freelance jobs to help fund a few other start up expenses.
