Stickman Madness 3

"Beat it..."

submission: Stickman Madness 3
date: July 11, 2008

I'm not sure why people were saying its laggy, it doesn't lag at all. Also strangely a few levels after using the laser gun it seemed to glitch and start firing like a normal gun but still had massive amounts of damage making it even more powerful... I love when glitches are in my favor...

"Random Encounters"

date: March 4, 2008

I like everything about this game but... ever inch I try to move there is a random encounter.. I can hardly get across an area in 10 minutes

March 4, 2008

Author's Response:

I suggest you to go to laboratory and buy "Radar",
then just turn it "on" and you can move almost freely :)

The Court Of The Air

"An excellent example of commercial animation."

date: July 22, 2007

I'm not sure why everyone seems to be so upset over the fact that this is advertising a book. It is still animation, and a perfect example of commercial animation which I might add is completely valid. As animators we must all remember that not all of us can get jobs creating TV shows and movies. Just like a traditional artists, some people need to design and illustrate and not everyone can make fine art for galleries, it doesn't mean thats not valid art.

More directed to the movie, I think you did a decent job. The illustration style was done very well, if anything I would work a little on the movement and as far as commercial animation is concerned I think the typography was a little too simple. Other then that, very good job and ignore the pretentious reviewers that are apposed to this. Animators deserve money too ^.^

The Box by Michelle Denz

"Nice one"

date: May 11, 2007

First, i'd like to say, Good work. It's nice to see something different for once and I'm glad this made front page. I like the extra bit at the credits ^.^ I think it could use a bit more motion, but I understand it is hard to create motion with a detailed painted picture or a scratchy shading technique without making the animation too jumpy. As for the sound I think the only way to make it better is possibly getting a foam filter for your microphone or perhapse a better recording program and mic all together.

Secound I would like to respond to

I hated the GFX, the whole thing didn't make sense, AND the sound WAS choppy! 4 Words, (Remember, this is just my opinion! Other people might like it!)"I hated this movie."

Wow did you even watch the movie? Perhapse your sound card is fuddled. Maybe you forgot what site your on? It made perfect sense to anyone 8 and older and the sound wasn't choppy on my end at all. Perhapse you should release something next time before just posting a hate messege on someones work just because it made front page. Also, next time if you really hate it, try to explain in depth why rather then just stating "I dont make sense I hate it the graphics suck!"

RetributionOfTheFallen 5

"...."

date: May 10, 2007

Ok so first Im thinking to myself. Well the animation isnt too bad, much like what most people have in the beginning... Then it turns into what I can only asume to be something made by the clock crew.

Messege to the clocks... why? why dont you try harder? why waist the time making these?

February 21, 2008

Author's Response:

I'm not a clock, all I did was drastically change the style after the intro, and it had decent if unconventional animation that actually took quite awhile to sync with the lyrics of the music.
Try harder to keep an open mind, mate : D

30 hour finale

"Not sure"

submission: 30 hour finale
date: May 9, 2007

Im still deciding on if I like it or not. Some of the work was well done. I have done some work that had to be completed in under 36 hours before. N00bs vs L33t is one of those, and I know its a paint to get alot of work done in a short amount of time expecially if you dont have a tablet >.<

Id say the best work I saw in this was the morphing animations, They were very smooth and timed well with the music.

Its nice to see collab music videos every once in a while and I plan to do one if I can ever manage the time, but I think what makes a collab really good is a theme even if its abstract. There is an older collab by the name of Mad World in the portal that is a good example of this.

Other then that, keep it up. I see a lot of promise from a few of the animators of the collab (for politeness sake I wont list who they were) But to the rest of you I think it wouldnt be more then just a few weeks or so of solid animation study and hitting the books to get some more front page stuff out there.

Author's Response:

Thanks for the review man, I enjoy your work. And although you didn't like it, you managed to write a review that I can read, understand and you managed to be helpful rather than abusive.

As you said "some people should practice with books". I really hate when that is said, only because I think people only get better with more hands on training.

Thanks for the good review though.

Bee Shooter 2

"Alright start"

submission: Bee Shooter 2
date: February 14, 2007

Its a good start. To be honest I still havent figured out how to do shooting collision detection so you have that on me. Of course it would be good to see a sliding background and just a little more definition to the sonic shots. Look up echo the dolphin, that game did a good job of showing a sonic attack. Also I like how the bees dont die right when you hit them. It seems like they are still crashing at you, however if you could make them change graphics to look like they got hit and are crashing right when you hit them that would make that feature a bit more understandable.

I enjoyed the music, you might want to add sound effects for shooting and getting hit .
Also nice light effect with the background.

Keep it up.

Author's Response:

thank you for the positive review I will explain the actionscript in 3 under the making so that will be cool for you to look at I willl look in to echo the dolphin thanks on that tip and i see what you mean about the backgound i will get to work on that after i have eaten and finished my current contain which is the other location and difficuities

Sound effect i should really add and infact i will also add that tonight depending how this one does overall i may re submit with the changes i make tonight

"Wootabulous"

submission: Slowloft: Overdose
date: February 11, 2007

I enjoyed the parody on madness, and I must say, your style was much preferable. I like the new spin on the fight scenes and more of a upbeat tempo. Krinkles work is good, but its more for disturbing people rather then being a badass peace of work. Good choices of music.

Also, your exactly right, the drug scemes by the market are insane and need to be rebelled against. I've been studying the use of visuals and sound to control people found in advertisements for some time now as basic coursework for design classes at my college. It's a bit frightning how many people are roped in and can't break away because of the addicting effects of the drugs and mentaly addicting effects of the advertisements as well as doctors working as a buisness.

But anyways, without listing off an entire manifesto of whats wrong with the country and all that..... Great work!
